Tendring District FC Under 13's play in the Essex Girls League. As Tendring is one of the Northern most counties most of our fixtures are Mid to South Essex, and it's not unusual to travel to some London boroughs to play games.
The team is relatively well established, although we're always looking for new players who want to try out, or move teams. The team has a friendly atmosphere where the girls feel comfortable to be themselves and have fun with their friends. Training can be more energetic at under 13's level as the strength of league opposition is greater as the girls become teenagers. As usual in youth football there's differing levels of ability within the team, so the coaching team tailor training sessions to develop each individual at their own pace. We work on the basics every week alongside some more advanced drills so the team as a whole develop together. All coaches at TDYFC are either FA level 1 qualified or working towards qualification. There will always be at least one FA qualified coach at each teams training session and matches.
How do I join the team?
If you'd like your child to join the team it's quite simple. firstly submit an initial interest form which can be found HERE we will then contact you back with team space availability and some information on the team. If we have a space we will ask you to attend training for two weeks, these sessions are free and we call these our taster sessions. Over the two weeks your child will train with the team and see how they like it. The taster sessions also give you time to meet the Manager, our Child Welfare Officer and Coaching Team. After the two weeks have ended you will then decide together whether you'd like to join us. During your taster sessions the Manager and Coaches will assess the child's current ability and guide the parent as to whether they're ready to join as a full member or an associate member, to find out the difference between the two please click HERE.
My child is in year 6, is she eligible?
We recommend children aged 11-12, this is because we have a duty of care to ensure your child is playing at the correct ability level and isn't intimidated by playing against older or bigger children. Have you tried the U12's team? this will be your best option.
What's the cost?
The taster sessions are free. Once you're ready to commit our treasurer will contact you with the costs involved that covers the whole season. They will also have information on ways to pay.
